Most everyone knows why using lubricant within the confines of an engine is critical. However, they may not know that placing additives, specifically PTFE lubricants additives, can also be just as critical. There are several reasons why this is such an important thing.
Thickener
Sometimes the oil may be a reduced viscosity than what is actually needed. To remedy this situation, you can add PTFE to the lubricant to thicken it in a safe and effective manner.
Resistant To Oxidation
Lubricant alone will not stop the gears and other parts of the machinery from rusting. However, if additives are introduced into the oil, they can deliver an immediate layer that coats all of the parts and makes them resistant to corrosion and rust.
Withstanding Pressure
The pressure that can build up within an engine or other type of machinery can be immense. When additives are included with any sort of lubricant, they can help to allow the moving parts to withstand all of the pressure. If these additives are not present, serious damage can happen to the machinery and cause danger to those who may be in the immediate area.
Temperature Extremes
When the temperature that the machinery is subject to is extremely hot or cold, it can play havoc if it is not properly protected. Lubricant additives can easily supply this protection. This ensures that you can operate the machinery in virtually any type of climate with little risk of overheating the engine or having it freeze up on you.
